An update and thank you
Patty and I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of so many people who donated to my GoFundMe. It is especially gratifying to see names from the past: former PhD students, luminaries from the academic field of Marketing, colleagues through the years, people who may know me only secondhand, friends, neighbors and others. We're very grateful that we can use this money to get extra caregivers in the home.
I've been enjoying a lot of sports on TV: the Tour de France, FC Cincinnati soccer and just about every movie made since the year 1940. If I could push a button believe I could be the current reigning Jeopardy champion given how much time I have had to absorb useless facts. I also watch a lot of political commentary on TV but my wife won't let me expound about that on this platform. Let's just say that I still believe in higher education, including the freedom to pursue any line of inquiry where the evidence may lead to new knowledge. But enough about that.
There are three big events that I'm going to enjoy immensely over the next two months. One will be an outdoor concert performed by my bandmates Oriana, Noah and Nate at our neighbor's home. The second is the wedding of our daughter Monica in mid-September. Following that will be my daughter Olivia's world title boxing match in New York City. These upcoming events brighten my outlook and keep my spirits high.
Love to all,
Dave
